Here is the breakdown for rules regarding smoking, and use of marijuana, for theme park resorts. Jump to theme parks based in: California, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Virginia.
California Based Theme Parks
Disneyland Resort
As of May 1, 2019, smoking and vaping are not permitted in Disneyland Resort property. This includes Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, the Esplanade between the two parks, Downtown Disney District, and the Disneyland Resort hotels. For those in your party who smoke, this can be challenging since they have to go all the way to Harbor Blvd or the parking lots to smoke. Additionally, marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
Universal Studios Hollywood Resort
At this time, the park's designated smoking area is closed and all tobacco smoking, electronic cigarettes, and vaporizers are not permitted in the park. No date for when the smoking areas will reopen has been given. Additionally, marijuana is not permitted with the park.
Knott's Berry Farm
Smoking and vaping are not allowed within the park, and is only permitted in the designated smoking area outside of the park's main entrance. Additionally, marijuana is not permitted within the park.
SeaWorld San Diego
Smoking is permitted at specified locations throughout the park. Marijuana is not permitted within the park.
LEGOLAND California Resort
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is only designated in one area outside of the park. This can be found just past the Lionsgate Bridge on the left side of Miniland USA, near the water by Mount Rushmore. Smoking is not permitted anywhere else in LEGOLAND California Resort. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Smoking of any kind is only allowed in designated smoking areas throughout the park, most of which are near restrooms. Marijuana is not permitted on park premises.
Florida Based Theme Parks
Walt Disney World Resort
Smoking is only permitted at designated smoking areas across the resort, which would include specific designated areas outside of hotels instead of guests using their balconies. Smoking marijuana in these designated areas, or at all across the resort, is prohibited. Universal Studios Orlando Resort
Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas within each park. Currently there are 6 smoking areas in Islands of Adventure, 8 in Universal Studios, and 3 in Volcano Bay. Additionally, marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
SeaWorld Orlando
Smoking is permitted at specified locations throughout the park. Marijuana is not permitted within the park.
LEGOLAND Florida Resort
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is only permitted in designated smoking areas. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is only permitted in designated smoking areas, which are near most restrooms. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
New Jersey Based Theme Parks
Six Flags Great Adventure
Smoking of any kind is only allowed in designated smoking areas throughout the park, most of which are near restrooms. Marijuana is not permitted on park premises.
Ohio Based Theme Parks
Cedar Point
Smoking of any kind is not permitted inside the park. Outside of the park entrance guests can find designated smoking areas. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
Kings Island
Smoking of any kind is not permitted inside the parks, but there are designated smoking areas outside of both parks's main entrances. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
Pennsylvania Based Theme Parks
Hersheypark
Smoking is only allowed in designated smoking areas throughout the park. Marijuana is not permitted within the park.
Virginia Based Theme Parks
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is only permitted in designated smoking areas, which are near most restrooms. Marijuana is not permitted within the resort.
